Ten things about Non Disturbance
Agreements
Non disturbance agreements or NDAs govern the
relationship between a hotel owner, hotel operator and
financier. In the situation where a hotel owner
defaults under its loan agreement, the financier has a

result of that default. The contractual relationships
between the owner and the operator are generally not
enforceable against the hotel owner's financier.
From a hotel operator's perspective, an NDA is an
important document because it provides the hotel
operator a direct contractual relationship with the
hotel owner's financier...

Landmark inclusion of tourism in Caribbean Economic
Partnership Agreement with Europe
During negotiations it was agreed between CARIFORUM and
the EU to include Tourism as a chapter within the
agreement rather than a separate annex - a positive
development given that tourism itself has never been
included as a separately considered sector in any
regional trading agreement in the past. In the
final agreement there are comprehensive rules for the
tourism sector including those to safeguard the
interests of the mainly small firms in the Caribbean by
preventing large firms from behaving in an
anti-competitive manner. Read David Jessop’s
article reviewing the landmark inclusion of tourism in

Newly-coined: carbon neutral
(KAHR-buhn NOO-truhl, NYOO-) adjective. Adding no
net carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Being
carbon-neutral doesn't necessarily mean producing zero
carbon dioxide. What it means is that the net addition
is zero, offset by other actions, such as planting
trees, buying clean energy, etc. And it doesn't have
to be all or nothing. If you cannot be completely
carbon-neutral, you can definitely reduce your carbon
footprint. Calculate your carbon footprint:
